Breeders of affordable pet and fibre alpacas

Huacaya alpacas for sale

PLEASE NOTE

We only sell alpacas in pairs or to a home that already has an alpaca or llama that will be cohabitating with the new alpaca, because of stress and health issues. Camelids do not do well alone. Save a few individuals (guard llamas), most camelids become severely depressed and will actually fall ill and die if they are not living in the company of another camelid.

We stand by the health of our animals and you are more than welcome to have a vet check done before purchase, in fact we encourage this practice so that everyone feels very comfortable with the transaction.

Please refer to the Itsy Bitsy Farm's Sales policy by clicking HERE

This is what clients are saying about our alpacas quoted with permission:''After the vet checked everybody and did her thing she said to me that the alpacas were in excellent condition. She said they are well-muscled, their weight is terrific, their teeth in very good condition (she says she often sees rotten teeth that must be pulled) and told me I was doing a wonderful job with them. And I thought, no, it's not me that did the wonderful job with them, it was you. We haven't had them long enough to have had that kind of influence on their health. So the credit goes to you guys for doing such a terrific job with your animals. An animal has some kind of really good karma if they are lucky enough to be adopted by you.''

All ages, all vaccinated yearly (including rabies last year),vet checked yearly, dewormed regularly with sub-q and other dewormers, all shorn yearly , toenails clipped and teeth checked and or trimmed, used to every type of livestock, they were shorn standing this year in less than 3 hours, it went very well this way, they are used to being handled by children and adults , are gentle ....

We are selling because we have been orienting the farm towards sheep and we are not making good use of the fibre. We have way too many kinds of animals and would like to see my pets go to a good home.

They do not challenge fencing, males should be kept in a seperate enclosure and not have any visual contact with females.

They thrive on good quality hay (horse quality + a little alfalfa hay is best, or dairy quality), good pasture in Summer, some mixed grain with an addition of minerals (no more than 1 lb each in Winter- some really don't need it or that much it's so that they get their vitamines/minerals)

They need a shelter, and must not be let out in freezing rain or cold rain (should any animal!!!) but other than that they are not much work.

Selling all for 13000$  at this time we need a variety of things for the farm so would be willing to make a partial trade for a variety of things including bush hog, finishing mower, hay, dome/tarp barn, healthy ewes...

Papers will normally not be transferred, but this can be negotiated

Smaller groups can be purchased at a lesser cost,
